Dr Victor Fung is Group Chairman of the Fung Group, a Hong Kong-based multinational group which comprises major operating groups engaging in trading, logistics, distribution and retailing including privately held Li & Fung Limited and publicly listed Convenience Retail Asia Limited. Dr. Fung played a leading role in driving the development of the supply chain infrastructure at Li & Fung Limited, which has enabled it to become the leading consumer goods design, development, sourcing, and logistics company for major retailers and brands around the world.

Dr. Fung is Chairman of the Asia Global Institute at the University of Hong Kong, a multi-disciplinary think-tank co-established with the Fung Global Institute to assume and carry forward the Fung Global Institute’s mission to generate and disseminate research and ideas on global issues from Asian perspectives. He is Chairman of the 2022 Foundation, a non-profit entity focused on research into Hong Kong’s long-term competitiveness and Chairman of the Victor and William Fung Foundation, whose focus is the nurturing of human capital and supporting educational programmes.

Dr. Fung is Chairman of the Civil Service Training Advisory Board, Chairman of the Global STEM Professorship Scheme Assessment Panel, a member of the Governance Committee of the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio, a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Monetary Authority and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance. He is a former Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (1991-2000), a Hong Kong representative on the APEC Business Advisory Council (1996-2003),Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (1999-2008), Chairman of the Council of The University of Hong Kong (2001-2009), Chairman of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council (2004-2013) and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (2014-2018).

He is also a member of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing, member of the Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, an Honorary Trustee of Peking University and an Honorary Professor of Renmin University. He is a former member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (2003-2018), Vice-Chairman of the China Centre for International Economic Exchanges (2009-2014).

Dr. Fung played a leadership role from 2007 in the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce, of which he was Chairman from 2008 to 2010. From 2012 to 2013, he was a member of the World Trade Organisation’s Panel On Defining The Future of Trade.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr. Fung holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After gaining his Doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University, he taught as a professor at Harvard Business School before returning to the family business in Hong Kong in 1976.

Ms. Pamela Mar

Managing Director, Digital Standards Initiative (DSI), International Chamber of Commerce

The DSI is a public private partnership backed by the ICC, Asian Development Bank, World Trade Organization and the Singapore government, dedicated to accelerating the digitalization of global trade as a key driver of growth, development and inclusion.

Prior to joining the DSI, Pamela was Executive Vice President for Supply Chain Futures, and then EVP for Knowledge and Applications for the Fung Group, a Hong Kong based multinational supply chain manager where she was also the first Group head of Sustainability. She was named one of Asia’s ten A-list sustainability leaders in 2019, and is a recognized industry leader in this area. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Pamela was based in Shenzhen as a Director of Global Finance for TCL Multimedia Technology, the first major Chinese company to go global by buying a foreign brand.

Prior to TCL, Pamela ran Greater China for the World Economic Forum, based in Geneva for five years. Pamela was born in New York and went to university in the USA, but has spent the majority of her life abroad, with stints in Bangkok, London, Geneva, Shenzhen, and now Hong Kong.

Ms. Barbara Meynert

Senior Advisor to the Fung Group, Member of the Executive Council of the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network

Business and thought leader Barbara Meynert has executive expertise across a broad range of sectors. She has enjoyed an international career in banking with such institutions as N.M. Rothschilds and Barclays Bank, commercial firm, and regulatory institutions including the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Airport Authority. She holds directorships in the corporate and non-profit sectors and is actively engaged in new digital technologies that are transforming the way we live, work and socialize.

Barbara Meynert is Senior Advisor to the Fung Group and a member of the Executive Council of the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network. She serves on the Hong Kong Cyberport Advisory Panel and the FinTech Advisory Council of the Astana International Financial Centre. She is Adjunct Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and Vice-Chair of the Hong Kong-Asean Economic Cooperation Foundation.

Mr. Kai-man Wong

Director, Victor and William Fung Foundation

Mr. Kai-man Wong is a Director of Victor and William Fung Foundation; past Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission (2009-2015), Hong Kong; past Council Member of the Financial Reporting Council, Hong Kong (2014-2021); past Court and Council Member of The University of Hong Kong (2010-2017); Council Member of the City University of Hong Kong (2007-2012) and Lingnan University (1999-2006). He was an Honorary Associate Professor, School of Business, The University of Hong Kong (2005 – January 2018). He is a past and current Independent Non-Executive Director of five listed companies and a retail bank in Hong Kong. Mr Wong also serves on the boards of several non-governmental organisations and has served on government advisory committees and statutory bodies in the areas of land, immigration, energy, law-enforcement, education and technology.

Mr. Wong was an audit partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Hong Kong with 32 years of audit, Initial Public Offer, due diligence and computer audit experience in London and Hong Kong offices of PwC. He retired as a partner on 30 June 2005.

Mr. Wong obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physics from The University of Hong Kong and Master of Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Wong was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2002 and was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2007 by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He was conferred an honorary fellow of the Lingnan University, Hong Kong in 2007, City University of Hong Kong in 2013 and The University of Hong Kong in 2016.

Professor Lap Chee Tsui

President, Victor and William Fung Foundation

Professor Lap-Chee Tsui is the Founding President of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences. He is also President of Victor and William Fung Foundation, Hong Kong, and Director of Qiushi Academy for Advanced Studies and Master of the Residential College of International Campus, Zhejiang University, China, and University of Toronto’s Emeritus University Professor. He is the 14th Vice Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong and, prior to which, he was Geneticist-in-Chief at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and University Professor at University of Toronto, Canada.

Professor Tsui received his Bachelor and Master degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and his PhD from University of Pittsburgh in 1979. He is world renowned for his research work in human genetics and genomics, notably the identification of the gene for Cystic Fibrosis in 1989 and, later, other human genetic diseases while conducting a comprehensive characterization of human chromosome 7.

Prof. Tsui is the recipient of many national and international awards, including the 2019 Association of Chinese Geneticists in America Lifetime Achievement Award in Genetics and the 2018 Warren Alpert Foundation Prize. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Royal Society of London and Academia Sinica. He is also an International Member of the National Academy of Sciences (USA), a Foreign Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Laureate. His other awards include 16 honorary doctoral degrees from prestigious universities around the world, the Orders of Canada and Ontario and Knighthood of the Légion d’Honneur of France. Prof. Tsui was appointed Justice of the Peace in 2001 and awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star and the Grand Bauhinia Medal by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2011 and 2016, respectively.

Deborah Weinswig is the CEO and Founder of Coresight Research, a research and advisory firm that focuses on the intersection of retail and technology. Coresight provides retailers, brands, solution providers, startups, and investors with insights, data, advice to anticipate change and profit from the disruption reshaping the global retail landscape. The company has offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, India, and the U.S.

Deborah is a recognized retail industry expert and thought leader and her global perspectives and insights are regularly featured in national business publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Barron’s, as well as on Bloomberg TV and CNBC. She also speaks frequently at leading industry conferences including CES, Cosmoprof, Fortune Global CEO Summit, Groceryshop, The National Retail Federation, REcon, Shoptalk, and ULI.

From 2014 to early 2018, Weinswig served as the founding Managing Director of Fung Global Retail and Technology (FGRT), the research arm and Think Tank for The Fung Group, a leading trading and supply chain management company based in Hong Kong.

Deborah’s deep knowledge and understanding of global retail and emerging technology trends were fostered through her extensive banking career, which included 12 years as Head of the Global Staples & Consumer Discretionary Team at Citi Research, as well as senior research positions at Bear Stearns and Morgan Stanley.

Throughout that time, Deborah was consistently ranked among the top analysts in her field by such prominent publications as Institutional Investor, where she was ranked #1 for 10 consecutive years, and Business Insider, which named her as one of Wall Street’s top 36 analysts. She has consistently been ranked as one of the top three Retail Influencers by LinkedIn, Vend, and Twitter. In addition, she has received many accolades including the Asia

Retail Congress Retail Leadership Award and the Researcher Award for Outstanding Service by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Weinswig serves on the board of directors for GUESS?, Inc., Kiabi, and Xcel Brands, Inc. She also sits on the Boards of many philanthropic organizations, including Goodwill Industries New York/New Jersey, and Street Soccer USA.

With a passion for innovation and for cultivating the next generation of retail, Deborah has been instrumental in helping several U.S. technology startup companies develop and implement retail technology systems and strategies that have been adopted by top-tier, national retailers. She serves as a mentor to Alchemist Accelerator, Entrepreneurs Roundtable (ERA), Grand Central Tech, New York Fashion Tech Lab, The Cage (powered by the Lane Crawford Joyce Group), Plug & Play, Revtech Ventures, Techstars, Truestart (UK), and XRC Labs, is an advisor to Shoptalk, and also serves on the advisory boards of several early-stage companies in both the U.S. and Hong Kong. In addition, she is on the advisory board of the Northwestern Retail Analytics Council and the World Retail Congress. She was one of the founding members of the Oracle Retail Strategy Council and is an active member of the ICSC Research Task Force.

Deborah is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Ms. Jasmine Lau

Co-Founder and Executive Director, Purpose in Motion

Jasmine Lau is a social entrepreneur, educator, and international community builder. She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of PIM (Purpose in Motion, formerly Philanthropy in Motion), which empowers young people with education, resources, and networks to become effective leaders and changemakers.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Jasmine graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics and Peking University with a Masters in International Studies. Jasmine has been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 for her work in social entrepreneurship and the World Economic Forum as a Global Shaper. She is a recipient of the Richard Rockefeller Fellowship and the Hong Kong Youth Service Award. She served on the board of advisors to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Goalkeepers initiative, which aims to promote collective citizen action globally to accomplish the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Coresight provides retailers, brands, technology companies, and investors with insights, advice, and tools to anticipate change and profit from the disruption reshaping the global retail landscape. Coresight has offices in the US, China, Europe, and India.

Ken is a leading expert on omni-channel retail, subscription e-commerce, retail innovation, and loyalty. He regularly speaks at industry events including Shoptalk, Groceryshop, and FMI, and with the media, including CNN, CNBC, BBC, NPR, Inc., and Forbes. Ken was previously a senior consultant at McKinsey & Company. He led Consumer Markets for Fuel, McKinsey’s startup practice, where his clients included subscription, DTC, marketplace, and retail tech companies. He also served leading retailers, brands, and private equity firms on loyalty, personalization, and the future of retail. Prior to McKinsey, Ken was CEO of YOU Technology, a leading cloud-based digital coupon and loyalty platform, which he sold in 2014 to Kroger (NYSE: KR).

Ken built the business into the retail industry’s largest digital coupon network with clients including Kroger, Albertsons, Wakefern, Giant Eagle, FreshDirect, P&G, General Mills, Pepsi, Kraft, Unilever, and many others. Prior to YOU, Ken was VP, Loyalty & Digital at The Kroger Co., a $100 billion+ grocery retailer with over 2,500 stores, where he led loyalty programs, digital, e-commerce, personalization, pricing, and customer insights and analytics.

While at Kroger, Ken created the industry’s first digital coupon program, launched the Kroger rewards loyalty program, re-launched Kroger’s consumer websites, and overhauled its $100 million personalized marketing program.

Ken has degrees from Stanford and Harvard Law School. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, three daughters, and three poorly trained dogs.
